The 5th edition of TEDxCERN will take place on November 20th in Geneva. "The Elephant in the Room" will explore the kind of transformative scientific innovation that impacts the world in which we live across a wide range of disciplines.

We invite you to join us to follow the conference live, Tuesday, November 20 between 14h and 18h30, at the Center Les Pensières of Veyrier du Lac. Les Pensières Center is partner of the webcast event with AM-Innovation and the intervention of local experts from University Savoie Mont-Blanc.

“The disconnect between our science-dependent society and the science on which it is built is a major concern to us. This year, we felt that there are many elephants in many rooms, and rather that ignoring them in the hope that they might go away, it’s time to engage.”

The Elephant in the Room, a concept defined as an obvious problem that is ignored. It will explore the kind of transformative scientific innovation that impacts the world in which we live across a wide range of disciplines. Speaking to The Elephant in the Room of the Present Times, the event will address the uncertainty of the destiny of humanity as a species. Where are we going? Are we going to destroy ourselves?

Fourteen experts from a wide range of disciplines will provide stimulating insights into current scientific and technological topics. From the quest for exoplanets and environmental changes to ethics around Artificial Intelligence, robotics and the complexity of biotechnologies, this year's event will take you into the technological field that is increasingly invading the humanity. With many elephants in many venues around the world, we want to discuss and explore ways to understand, mobilize and find solutions.
